SENIOR RAIL OPERATIONS ANALYST

Responsible for undertaking studies and analyses of travel time, rail system capacity, network improvements, traction power system performance and signal block layout/control line optimization, the Senior Rail Operations Analyst will be part of LTK's Rail Operations and Simulation practice. This position can be located in any of the firm's permanent office locations.

The Senior Rail Operations Analyst will also develop rail service and operating plans, as well as have responsibility for identifying new business opportunities. A significant portion of the Analyst's time may be devoted to authoring technical reports, creating presentations and developing proposals for new assignments.

The position requires a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in rail operations, including service plan and operating plan development. Experience with using software to simulate train performance, evaluate rail network operations and capacity, and assess traction power systems is required, as is proficiency with office productivity software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). The position requires an undergraduate degree in an appropriate field; a master’s degree is highly desirable.

RAIL OPERATIONS ANALYST

The Rail Operations Analyst will be part of LTK's Rail Operations and Simulation practice. This position can be located in any of the firm's permanent office locations.

The Rail Operations Analyst will also develop rail service and operating plans, as well as support the pursuit of new business opportunities. The Analyst should be comfortable authoring technical reports, creating presentations and developing proposals for new assignments.

The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in rail operations planning. RAIL TRACTION POWER ENGINEER

Minimum qualifications include a BS degree in engineering or a related field and 5-15 years of related experience. Work experience and knowledge of AC and DC traction power system design may be substituted for degree requirements. Background experience should include design of 600/750 volt DC rail transit traction power substations, including switchgear, transformers, rectifiers, and overhead catenary/third rail distribution systems.

RAIL TRANSIT VEHICLE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Minimum qualifications include a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of electrical/electronics design for microprocessor controls, communications industry, infotainment systems, or other related experience.

The candidate must possess solid knowledge of electrical engineering (microprocessor controls, networking, RF communications, solid state power conversion, electric machinery fundamentals, basics of power circuits, etc.) and familiarity with most other aspects of electrical engineering; design and test background in the wireless/wired network implementations, infotainment systems; and/or other related disciplines is preferred.

Experience in components and systems design for rail vehicle electrical systems is desirable but not mandatory.

Duties and Responsibilities: Develop technical requirement specifications for electrical/electronic equipment. Review equipment design documentation and prepare detailed descriptions of review findings. Participate in formal design review meetings and technical working sessions with equipment suppliers. Inspect and review prototype and first article equipment and prepare detailed descriptions of review findings. Participate in quality assurance and manufacturing audits. Review procedures for and witness component and system qualification testing, including functional, environmental, performance, EMC, and system integration tests. Evaluate as-built performance of electrical/electronic components and systems on board of the rail vehicle. Forensic investigation of failed components and equipment and reporting findings.

Travel throughout NYC area is required, as well as some long distance and international trips.
