Minimum qualifications include an undergraduate degree in engineering, information technology, finance or economics and 5 years of related experience.  Professional registration of any type or an advanced degree would be a plus.

RAIL TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE NETWORK ANALYST - ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer or Electrical Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience.

Requirements: Experience must include both wired and wireless Ethernet technology, and ideally will include emphasis on real-time control, failure mode analysis-mitigation, and security- vulnerability issues in a mobile environment. A thorough knowledge of core IP protocols is required. The candidate must be capable of identifying requirements and writing specifications, reviewing and providing cogent analysis of technical submittals, performing equipment inspections, and witnessing tests. RAIL OPERATIONS ANALYST

Responsible for supporting studies and analyses of travel time, rail system capacity, network improvements, traction power system performance and signal block layout/control line optimization under the direction of Project Managers, Project Directors and Senior Rail Operations Analysts. The Rail Operations Analyst will be part of LTK's Rail Operations and Simulation practice. This position can be located in any of the firm's permanent office locations in North America, with preference given to LTK locations in Ambler, PA; Brooklyn, NY; Newark, NJ; or White River Junction, VT.

The Rail Operations Analyst will also develop rail service and operating plans, as well as support the pursuit of new business opportunities. The Analyst should be comfortable authoring technical reports, creating presentations and developing proposals for new assignments.

The Analyst will also support development, testing, training and documentation associated with LTK’s proprietary TrainOps® rail simulation software for urban transit systems, commuter rail networks and mainline (freight/passenger) railroads.

The position requires academic and/or practical industry experience in rail operations, including service plan and operating plan development. Proficiency with office productivity software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) is required.  Experience with using software (such as Berkeley Simulation Systems’ RTC, Systra’s RailSim and/or Transportation Decision System’s OnTrack software) to simulate train performance, evaluate rail network operations and capacity, and assess traction power systems is highly desirable. SHAREPOINT DEVELOPER- ADMINISTRATOR

Job Description

  • Oversee development and support of internal and external facing SharePoint sites, tools and features.
  • Design, develop, integrate and implement related Workflows, Web Parts, Event Receivers and related SharePoint components.
  • Development of Reports using Integrated SQL Reporting Services
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user manuals and implementation plans.
  • Convert business processes into technical requirements
  • Support all aspects of SDLC, including analysis, development, testing and implementation.

Minimum Requirements and Experience

  • B.S. (or similar) Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Five (5) Years Working Experience with SharePoint Administration and Development.
  • Understanding of SharePoint architecture, object model and best practices.
  • Complete understanding of SharePoint web-application and site collection administration, as well as Forms and Claims Based Authentication.
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, Internet technologies and standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Technical documentation skills.
  • Hands-on software troubleshooting experience.

RAIL TRANSIT VEHICLE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Minimum qualifications include a BSEE degree and 7 years of related experience (experience can be substituted for degree).  Experience should include one or more of the following: design, manufacture, test, commissioning, and maintenance of transit and railway vehicles.  Vehicle systems experience should include: Propulsion (both AC and DC primary supply), Braking, Auxiliary Power Supply, HVAC, Automatic Train Control (ATC) and Cab Signal, Communications, Doors, Diagnostics, Car Controls (trainlines and data networks), and embedded microprocessors used in the control of the aforementioned systems.  Candidate must have a proven track record of participation in successful transit vehicle procurement programs.  Candidate should also be skilled in the preparation of technical specifications and cost estimates.

Location:  Toronto, ON

Travel is required, as well as some long distance and international trips.

Senior Consultant

The Senior Consultant Position is targeted for the Revenue Systems & Technology Practice.  Office location to be determined.  Candidates must possess excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills, and work well in a team. Minimum qualifications include an undergraduate degree in engineering, information technology, finance or economics and 10 years of related experience. Professional registration as a PE, PMP and/or CSCIP and/or an advanced degree is desirable but not required.

Experience should include detailed understanding of one or more of the following: design, manufacture, test, commissioning, and maintenance of transit payment systems.  Relevant payment systems experience includes faregates, fareboxes, fare media and related vending systems, mobile payments, legacy and account-based systems, open payments, closed-loop payments, website development, systems integration, etc.

Duties will involve providing technical support to our valued clients including planning, developing technical specifications and cost estimates, participating in reviews of designs, developing testing protocols, assessing results, and ensuring professional delivery of all work assignments. The right individual will have the opportunity to become a technical project lead or project manager including staff supervision and a great deal of client interaction. 

Candidate must have a proven track record of participation in successful transit payment systems programs.  Exposure to proposal development would be a plus.

Moderate travel is required.

PROJECT ASSISTANT

Minimum Requirements: Five or more years of work experience with an engineering, architectural, or construction firm, an Associate’s degree, experience using Microsoft SharePoint, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows Explorer. Responsibilities include typing and formatting technical and general correspondence; Memorandum of Conferences (MOC), maintaining a SharePoint-based document management system; electronic file management, preparing progress reports, memos, and letters, coordinating multiple due dates for correspondence, and other general office duties.  SharePoint familiarity and skills are a plus. Organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and with others, are essential.  

Additional Requirements:  Provide contract-administration support to Project Manager and client, including invoice tracking, review and edits of Contract Modifications and Change Orders. Ability to draft commercial contract letters with minimal direction, research contractual issues as requested. Assist in review and preparation of monthly progress reports, which include preparing/updating excel spreadsheets and charts for tracking of contract balances, etc.

Candidate must be highly motivated and able to work with minimal direction. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Interviewed candidates will be evaluated by a brief test for word processing, spreadsheet, file management, and other skills.

Candidates must possess broad-based knowledge of metallurgical engineering, preferably with a strong background in welding design, specifications, and technology.  Areas of knowledge and experience of particular relevance to this position also include, specification of materials, structural design and analysis, design of castings, fatigue assessment, fracture mechanics, forensics engineering, corrosion engineering, and  Non-Destructive Testing methods.  Experience with structural stainless steel is desirable. Candidates must possess excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills, and work well in a team.

Minimum qualifications include a undergraduate degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering and 5 years of related experience.  Professional accreditations, NDT and other welding related certifications, and/or advanced degrees desirable.

•    Develop technical specifications for mechanical equipment or structures as related to materials standards, workmanship requirements, welding standards, and non-destructive testing.
